Airplanes of World War II

AIRPLANES OF WORLD WAR II
During the darkest days of the Second World War “the Hump”, the incredibly hazardous flight over the Himalayas from India to China, was China’s vital supply link with the outside world. CERS is working closely with former CNAC Hump pilots as well as those from the American Volunteer Group (AVG), better known as the Flying Tigers, to organize their irreplaceable historical material, which includes many photographs documenting their legendary achievements while flying for China. In Flight We have also procured the list of airplanes which crashed along the infamous Hump, victims of hazardous weather and some of the world’s tallest mountains, or Japanese fighters.  While there were 1,553 planes lost over the HUMP during the War, CERS is only focusing on those flown by CNAC.
