Black-Necked Crane Museum

To facilitate our continuous research to the Black-necked Crane, CERS has constructed a Crane and Migrating Bird theme museum at the edge of the Napahai wetlands in Shangri-la Yunnan. There is a permanent exhibit as well as a small theater to show film at the site. It also offers one of the best vantage point for observing the Black-necked Crane and other migrating birds of the plateau during the winter as they converge at this site. Within the building is a special chapel with painted murals depicting the stories evolved around the Black-necked Crane and its connection to the reincarnation of the Sixth to the Seventh Dalai Lama.
